In order to make your home a healthy and attractive place to live you need to understand at least the basics of feng shui. This will allow chi or the body’s “life force” to flow naturally and in a way that benefits you and everyone else within the house. One aspect of creating the perfect feng shui home is using feng shui wallpaper. The type of wallpaper that’s right for a particular room depends on the pattern it uses as well as the color.

The color is probably the most important part of choosing wallpaper when trying to create the right feng shui environment. Feng shui requires the correct colors for different areas of the house in order to aid the flow of chi in that area. For example, in the living room you should avoid very bright colors as these are thought to increase the amount of argumentative chi in the area. Bright colors should also not be used in bedroom as it’s thought that they can make sleep more difficult. Different areas of the house require different wallpapers so there isn’t one type that suits all locations. You should also think about choosing the right patterns.

Generally neutral colors are more suitable to a wider range of situations. This is because they provide balance and also create a sense of space. Bright colors can often make a room feel cramped in comparison. To add to this illusion of space you could also use a reflective painting which has a similar effect to mirrors. You should be careful when using anything reflective in feng shui though. Whilst reflections can be extremely effective at increasing the amount of chi in a room they can also cause problems if not used correctly.

Choosing the right wallpaper isn’t just about feng shui– there are also practical concerns that you need to be aware of. For example, there are a number of different types of wallpaper suitable for different purposes. Vinyl wallpaper is the most durable so is commonly used in areas of the house such as the bathroom. On the other hand, some wallpaper types aren’t as durable and will soak up stains and hence won’t be appropriate for potentially wet areas of the house.

Another consideration is which pictures and paintings you should use to enhance the feng shui of a particular room. If you can’t change to feng shui wallpaper then you may be able to affect the flow of chi by using paintings to add balance to rooms design. Five different types of painting exist – one for each of the feng shui elements.

You can also find computer feng shui wallpaper on the internet. These allow you to bring the feng shui concept to your PC which is becoming a more and more important part of our daily life. Some feng shui computer wallpapers even having learning material so you can get more familiar with things such as the different elements. Many feng shui wallpapers are free while the better ones often require a small payment.

I wish you all the best on your Feng Shui Wallpaper adventure!

Best wishes,
